Some people are more predisposed to grief than others
Grief counseling is very helpful to persons who have been diagnosed with a chronic illness, disability, mental health diagnosis, substance use disorder and who find themselves alone without natural support of others close to them. This includes people who have recently moved, immigrated, and who are elderly. Physical disability poses special challenges to some people because of problems concerning mobility. Isolation is one of the most prominent and problematic to those surviving losses. No one heals in isolation thus counseling can provide a client with increased access to supportive others who are experiencing similar circumstances.
